Who we are

I'm Shane, and I started Trueline Building because I wanted the quality of my building work to always be down to me.

There are no shortcuts in building. You're dealing with a house, you're dealing with people's lives, you're building a structure that somebody's going to live inside.

The building code is set up for the minimum. That's the minimum you have to do to pass your inspection, and on the things that matter, I'd rather go further. If something's not right, I've got no problems pulling it apart and doing it again.

Renovating a home is one of the most stressful things you can do, so it's my job to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible. The warning signs are when nothing gets communicated, and then all of a sudden, things start coming at you out of the blue. I don't work like that. If something comes up, it's my job to stop work and talk it through with you there and then. Some builders just keep going and don't say anything, and then there's a week's worth of extras, when it could have just been a day.

Building terminology is like a foreign language to someone who doesn't build, so I keep things as simple as I can. The client is the most important person in the whole process, and it's my job to see you through to the end.

Whatever the job is, we're creating a life for somebody, and I think that's really special. It's a journey we take on, together.
